ETA TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

From 8 January 2025, Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETAs) will be required for travel to the UK. Below, we’ve outlined all the essential details to help you prepare.

WHAT IS AN ETA?
An ETA is a digital travel authorisation for visitors who do not currently need a visa for short stays in the UK, or who do not already have UK immigration status. While an ETA grants permission to travel to the UK, it is not a visa and does not guarantee entry into the country. All travellers must still complete immigration checks upon arrival.

KEY INFORMATION
• Cost: £10 (non-refundable).
• Validity: Valid for 2 years, allowing multiple journeys of up to 6 months each time.
• Processing Time: Most applications are processed within 3 working days, though quicker decisions may be made through the app.

WHO NEEDS AN ETA?
Every traveller, including babies and children, must have their own ETA. Applications can be made on behalf of someone else.
